The local Meetup group went to the Duke Lemur Center and was able to participate in one of the "free range" photo tours. No fences and you get to interact with the lemurs. It's a little expensive, but so worth it. Carolyn and I did something similar in Spain. The Duke Lemur Center has the largest population of lemurs outside Madagascar. The cage tour is worth the visit, though not for photography. Fantastic work is done here to study the lemurs and try and repopulate and educate the world on these special little critters.
