Ramblings of an Amateur Photographer

CamRanger

CamRangerI love my toys.  The difference between the toys of my youth and the toys of my adulthood is the price. I try a bunch of them out. I must say that a good number of them aren't very good. Every so often I come across a really cool new tool for my camera bag. The CamRanger is such a tool.

With this little goodie I can use my iPad to control all sorts of stuff on my camera. The CamRanger is compatible with most of the Canon and Nikon DSLRs (check their website before buying).

It has the following features:

  • Live View (view what your camera sees, focus by tapping & focus stacking)
  • Take and view images
  • Record movies
  • Intervalometer & blub mode (for timelapse or long exposures)
  • Set almost all your camera properties (shutter, aperture, ISO, EV, WB)
  • HDR bracketing
  • View what's on the camera card

I've only started to take it out for a test spin, but I can see this becoming a part of my camera bag. I am very happy so far!
