Ramblings of an Amateur Photographer

Infrared in Washington DC

Jefferson IR

We headed to Washington DC for the Cherry Blossom festival. Much to our surprise, there were no cherry blossoms to speak of. Due to the clod climate and late spring the buds are just peaking out, but only 1 tree bloomed (that we saw). Jay gave me a very nice Christmas gift, his old Nikon D70 IR converted camera. I took it to try and play with it a bit. I'm still getting used to it. IR photography is a whole new field for me and it takes ome getting used to. I am finding out that not only the setting you use, but the lenses you use can have a great impact on the resulting images.

The above shot was taken of the Jefferson memorial. A little bit different shot which I am sure has been made a thousand times. I doubt there are very many original angles on this impressive memorial.
